PINK DAY - Wear Pink!

On Wednesday, February 24 all BLAIR STUDENTS are encouraged to wear pink and support PINK DAY.   Last year, over 150 families purchased a PINK shirt from the school and we hope to see them worn once again.

Blair students will meet in Family Teams on PINK day to do an activity in their multi-grade group that focuses on our Blair Matrix!

What is PINK DAY?

In 2007, two Nova Scotia students decided to take action after witnessing a younger student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. The students bought 50 pink t-shirts and encouraged schoolmates to wear them and send a powerful message of solidarity to the bully. CKNW Orphan’s Fund was inspired by the story and to date have raised more than $1.2 million for anti-bullying programs in British Columbia with the sales of Pink Shirt Day T-Shirts.

This year we want all students to know that “Kindness is one size fits all”. Kindness is universal — a trait that we encourage everyone to openly express every day. The phrase “one size fits all” works for one simple reason: it stands for inclusivity, both in clothing and in our everyday lives. We’re all gloriously different, but we all have the capacity to put kindness out into the world.

The 2016 official pink shirt is available in all London Drugs stores and online at PinkShirtDay.ca.

Or just wear a PINK shirt that you already own!
