Orange Shirt Day

We are wearing Orange Shirts on September 29 in recognition of Orange Shirt Day, a day that is also now known across Canada as the National Day For Truth and Reconciliation.  We acknowledge the courage it has taken for survivors of Canada’s residential school system to share their stories, and help us understand what happened.

In wearing our Orange Shirts today, we are honouring and remembering all the people who have been affected by Canada’s Residential Schools.

We are all learning about how we can support reconciliation.  We can listen to the stories of people who experienced Residential Schools.  We can read books by Indigenous authors.  And we can honour and remember all of the people affected by Canada’s Residential Schools as we learn to be better together.
