Div. 9: What Makes me Happy?
Reflection Frame for Evidence: Our Story
Name: Mrs. Khare
Division: 9
Each student was given a mirror to see their different facial expressions. They looked at their lines, eyebrow shape, and lips. After the student self reflected and wrote down what makes them happy. Then their peers also wrote down what they thought made their friend “happy”.
What are you learning regarding your evidence? What have you noticed through your scanning and observation? What is going on for your learners?
I learned that the students do know what triggers certain emotions. The most amazing part is when their peers were able to communicate what made their friend feel happy, sad, mad or surprised. We are a community and we listen to one another. There is a sense of belonging and respect for one another.
How is what you are learning now different from when you began in the fall?
I am noticing that my students are able to communicate how they are feeling. They were able to know some triggers. Taking the time to self reflect.
What questions do you have moving forward?
Can students verbalize to their friends: I am feeling like this because…
What are some next steps you are considering?
What is your role in our classroom community?
How can you help when you notice an emotion of sadness or anger has been triggered.
