What is my gift? How can I give back to the community?

Our continued focus at Blair is to support students with understanding their identity. We are creating ways for students to share their personal stories to build a stronger sense of community through a deep sense of belonging and connection. It is through this inclusive school environment where students can feel safe, and have the confidence to challenge themselves to with their learning.  When students feel their best at school, they can be successful.

Our grade 7 student leadership group had an idea for students to share their skills; they asked Blair students to consider: “What is my gift?  How can I give back to the community?”

With support from the Blair staff, we offered an opportunity for students to share their skills (a wide variety of individual forms of expression!) through our Blair’s Got Talent event on March 13, 2026! Students in the school shared their personal gifts to the school community through music, art, storytelling, writing, dance, and more. In addition, every student in the school shared personal gifts/talents before the event to classmates and big/little buddies, and at our event through the Blair Student Gold Stars displayed prominently around the gym.  Every student in our community was represented and celebrated for having gifts to share!

As a school, we work together to celebrate each other. Every student has a place at Blair, every student is important, and everyone has gifts to share with the community. On March 13th, 2026, we celebrated identity, community, and the reciprocity of belonging. And it was marvelous!
