ALL ABOUT ME: The beginning of the year is a wonderful time to not only get to know each other better, but to also take a closer look at ourselves. In our very first project, we integrated Social Studies and the Arts!

• We first practiced our self-portraits using loose parts and a mirror! We had fun manipulating and using different materials to add details to our faces.
• Next, we practiced sketching our individual faces using mirrors, whiteboards and whiteboard markers.
• Finally, we followed step-by-step instructions to draw our own-self portraits.
• After, we used our artistic skills to paint beautiful water-coloured backgrounds to make our portraits POP!
• During our very last step, we shared what our very favourite characteristic about ourselves are. These are the things we love about ourselves...they could be a physical feature, a characteristic, or something that we're very good at!
