During the 2021-22 the Blair staff have been SCANNING and noticing what is going on for our learners as far as their social emotional competencies. We have put a Social Emotional Learning committee in place and have discussed our FOCUS for the next school year 2021-22. We have discussed the importance of consistency of langauge and will be FOCUSSING on using the CASEL SEL terms (Self Awareness, Self Management, Social Awareness, Responsible Decision Making and Relationship Skills) and explicitly teach these to all of our students' and what they mean. We have a HUNCH that our students' are most challenged during Responsible Decision Making, so this will be a priority for our teaching.  We are also going to take some time in our Professional Development time during the year to further develop our skills in the areas of Social Emotional Learning and building consistent language that we use in our school to support staff, students and parents when discussing social reponsibilty and social emotional learning.
